District of Fishery and Blue Growth – COSVAP of Mazara del Vallo has for decades, been committed to solving problems of the fishing industry and supporting companies. Established with the signing of the District Agreement is promoted and managed through the non-profit Sicilian Consortium for the enhancement of Fish caught, recognized by public institutions through specific laws, is proposed instrument for the promotion and the development of the activities of the productive field of the peach to advantage of the subscribers of the pact. It aims to encourage local business systems supporting and directing the processes of economic and social growth according to the principles of Blue Economy, engine of District’s activities. It aims to research, build and implement actions useful to the fishing industry at local, national and transnational levels by acting in synergy with trade associations, unions, research bodies, public and private institutions, credit institutions and companies.

DFBG will bring the stakeholders of the bio-based sector value chains in Sicily and their knowledge about social and economic barriers and potential to the project. It will exploit its vast experience in the blue bio-based sector and skills in dissemination and training activities designed in cooperation with universities and companies for the project’s stakeholders.
