Workshop in Aalborg, Denmark

With UiA lead, we are excited to share that, in advancing the objectives of WP4 within the Blue Rev project, we held a workshop in Aalborg, Denmark, in May.

The workshop brought together approximately 20 stakeholders from various bio and fish industries. The goal was to develop and gather additional data for mapping sustainable new business models, governance structures, and social innovations in the Danish pilot region. Our engagement with local partner experts allowed us to identify key components and methodologies for effective mapping.

Initial data from this stage highlights the potential for developing sustainable, nutrition-rich fish by-products for various industries, including food, health supplements, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. The mapping indicates a differentiation strategy focused on niche consumer segments and potential B2B opportunities.

It also considered cost structure, distribution, partnerships, and marketing channels for bringing such products to market. The potential of international markets, such as China, was identified as a growth strategy.

Additionally, to align the new governance structure and business model developments, our project partner RICE collected data during the workshop by engaging with stakeholders.
